Bringing Lucy & Yak to Life in Retail
Lucy & Yak, Sheffield, London Islington & Cardiff
Retail
Project Introduction:
Working collaboratively with Lucy & Yak’s in-house designer, Jess Marshall, BED Studio supported the development of three new retail spaces in Sheffield, London Islington and Cardiff.
Each location provided an opportunity to bring Lucy & Yak’s bold, colourful and playful identity to life within a different architectural setting. Our involvement ranged from spatial layouts and façade concepts to the design and development of bespoke product display elements, helping to create a consistent retail experience while responding individually to each store.

The Brief
The brief was to support Lucy & Yak’s in-house design team in developing a series of physical retail spaces that captured the energy and personality of the brand while creating functional, engaging environments for both customers and store teams.
With each store presenting a different footprint and architectural character, the challenge was to establish layouts and design solutions that could adapt to each location while retaining a recognisable Lucy & Yak experience.
The Concept
Bold colour, playful graphics and expressive architectural elements are balanced with simple, flexible merchandising systems and natural timber displays, allowing the product and brand personality to remain at the forefront. Bespoke display elements were developed to create moments of interest and discovery throughout the stores, while layouts focused on openness, visibility and intuitive customer flow. Façade concepts extended the experience beyond the interior, giving the stores a strong and distinctive presence within their individual locations.
The result is a collection of vibrant retail environments that feel unmistakably Lucy & Yak, while allowing each store to have its own character.
